The Last Alchemist
The Last Alchemist
By Colin Crafford
England, 1805. James Ashcroft is a gifted metalworker with a dangerous curiosity for the forbidden science of alchemy. When his experiments draw the attention of powerful men, suspicion, fear and ambition begin closing around him.
Then something happens that should be impossible.
James survives what should have killed him, but survival comes at a terrible cost. His body is changing. Sleep no longer comes. Hunger, pain and time themselves begin to feel different, and the man he once was starts slipping beyond reach.
Forced to hide what he has become, James is drawn deeper into a world of secret knowledge, political intrigue and violent men who would use his abilities for their own ends. From England to France, his strange gift begins opening doors that may prove far more dangerous than the gallows he escaped.
He never imagined he would become the experiment.
The Last Alchemist is a supernatural historical horror novel about obsession, immortality, power and the terrible price of discovering that some transformations cannot be reversed.
